Day 4 - WONDER

(Credits: Felty Dog Kit by Christine Stone - Calico's Corner- Link is under my favoutire blogs on the right. Template: Melanie van Amerongen-Matzek)

On the 10 November my little Doxie Trixibelle, gave birth to 3 tiny little pups. It was 4am in the morning, and I woke my kids up to watch the wonder of birth. Katie (named after a friend in Scotland), the chocolate brown female was born first followed very closely by another little girl, unfortunately she was still born. At this stage I panicked and took Mom and pup to the vet, as I knew from the scans that there was another one on the way. He was born 5 hours later, a whopping silver dapple. We watched in wonder as these 2 tiny creatures grew in leaps and bounds. Then, when they were two months old, our little baby girl, Katie, died suddenly. The vet told us she had something wrong with her heart, and she would not have lived no matter what. Our hearts were broken. But life has to carry on, and we still have our Trixibelle and Scallywags, our little boy. He is now almost 4 months old, and the apple of our eye. Trixibelle was the perfect mother, still is, She has all the patience in the world. Scallywags is a handful, but we adore him.

I will be adding a few more LO's of my Doxies soon. Watch this space...

Another LO done with Bonnie van Esch Designs

I used Pure Joy by Bonnie van Esch Designs. She hand painted this paper, isn't it beautiful? This is the Drakensburg Mountain Range

Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. - Mark Twain
I have always been a daydreamer,I still am. These days my dreams are for my children, I wish them so much in their future, I encourage them to follow their dreams, as I was unable to follow my most passionate dream, that was to work with animals, to become a vet. I lived my dream through books, devouring everything I could read on animals, and today I may not be a vet, but I still love animals, and have many.
I am fortunate enough to be able to travel, and in this way I have been able to fulfill another of my dreams , to see the world.

Have you ever been CURIOUS about the existence of fairies and a fairy kingdom? When I was a child my Grandfather really believed in fairies, and created a magical world for his grandchildren. Wherever we went with him we would find evidence of fairies. Now that I am older I realize he created this world for us, and let our imaginations run wild. But that feeling of magic will always stay with me.

I have been busy!

So much for keeping up to date with my blog!! All my good intentions flew out of the window when my sister, Bonnie, asked me to be on her CT. So that is what I have been busy with, scrapping with her beautiful stuff. Please visit her blog to have a look at how creative she is HERE . Her kits are available at Digi-Scrap SA , and Snapandscrap SA. Unfortunately only to South Africans at the moment. This is one of the LO's I did with her Butterfly Dreams.
You can see my slide show at the bottom of my blog.

Explore your childhood memories

The first thing that cam e to my mind at this prompt was the way children explore which made me think about my childhood. So I associated the word explore with my childhood memories, and what a fascinating world it was for me. I was a real country girl, a bit of a loner, I suppose, always out exploring with my dog or on my horse.
So this prompted me to do this blended scrap page.

This is a challenge I decided to do, as I love interpreting words, and giving them my own definition. And when I saw the wonderful art of my fellow bloggers, I was even more inspired. Because it has taken me so long to get this blog set up, I am way behind. I also need to thank my sister, Bon, who got me going with all of this.

My first Blog

Well, this is my very first post on my new blog. This is still all very new to me. It took me about 2 weeks just to figure our how to insert my header! I am a real fool when it comes to technical things.
Just want to give credit to Anja for the beautiful kit "Pinky Flowers" I used in my header.

I mainly got this blog going for posting challenges for my various scrap and arty groups.I am hoping this is going to be an incentive to really get involved more.
